Interesting pallet of sounds used in this piece. The mood of the first few bars is just ON. I love the hyper-warble hook. The drum-loop work is pretty classy in that it’s not overdone, not overused and chopped to taste. I love the tones at the 2:20 mark - reminds me of… well, me. When everything is kicking at 2:45 or so, I’m way into it.
The the simple hi-pass filter sweep hits at the break and I’m diggin’ it. A sort of corrugated saw w/ tight delay sneaks in and blends between the final pass into… crowd noise - wtf? For a moment I’m caught of guard and bam! The tone melody is back, but now as intricate plucked strings with new friends every bar. I love where this entire portion of the track goes to, more and more layers build and things get ecstatic.
Then it just rocks my mid-90’s IDM socks off, from there on out. Complete with wacky ending.
I hope Wrexsoul gets some sort of attention outside of the netlabel sphere for this level of work. Unless that would be counter to his steelo, which is also understandable.
