I avoided it in my last review, but 3Tronik must be a fan of Ae. Some might call this track “DSP masturbation”. I can get into it at certain times - but it does have that overcooked IDM aftertaste. It has been done (if that even matters). I’m a sucker for things that completely break apart - any audio that builds from order into total malfunction makes me smile. But, to warrant my attention it needs to be unique or a fresh take on the idea.
This track has that particular quality that I can’t seem to express relating to us “bedroom producers” and my own “netlabel music” preconceptions. To me, it sounds like another sort of starting point track with heavy fx building to predictable climax and resolve. Now, I can still honor and respect the final result if the artist(s) decided - “this piece is done” - but something about the piece doesn’t seem fully realized. The last track from 3Tronik seemed “loose”, this track seems “sketchy”.

humm, its up to you, its a music for free, not produced by a commerical label like warp
I think this track and this album are really good its not a “bedroon producers” if you are boring strop listning that, go to your homestudio and make music and return speak
I’m still digesting it. However, while I realize that this will probably be an unpopular opinion, it doesn’t really do much for me. While I can appreciate their continued exploration of “generative” composition methods, I still prefer the more traditional and “structured” sound of their older work.
But thats just my personal taste and opinion.
