Rhodes(ish) piano, guitar harmony, filtered beats, harmonica, spoken word samples, and vocals by Jonas Hult. This is my final review from “All Becomes Music”, but the whole release is well worth a trip to Archive.org, or to the Sutemos label’s site.

Kinda has a Schnaussian feel to it, no? The way the Rhodes notes hang on the spoken word is phenom. The harmonica combo in the intro portion is quite powerful. A+ the whole intro of this track.
And while I kinda enjoy the laid back nature of the eventual break (which has been re-configured nicely), I admit that I never wanted a beat to drop at all. No groove necessary… move along. And - you guessed it - when the emo-folk hybrid vocal kicks in at the 2min. mark, Stockfinster has almost lost me.
Don’t get me wrong, I encourage experiments like this, many people love this stuff. I appreciate the effort both technically and artistically, but it’s just not my cup of tea by the 2:30 mark. That said, I still can dig the great vocal performance from Hult here. Creamy harmonies leading to a blissful last phrase to fadeout with.
